What is Sea Scouts?
Sea Scouts is a specialized program within the Boy Scouts of America, designed for youth aged 14-20 who have a passion for the sea and maritime activities. Whether you’re interested in sailing, powerboating, kayaking, or learning about marine science, Sea Scouts provides a hands-on, immersive experience. In addition, Sea Scouts has a partnership with the US Coast Guard with Sea Scouts being the official youth program of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.
What We Do:
Sailing and Boating: Learn to sail, navigate, and handle a variety of boats. Gain practical experience through regular sailing trips and regattas.
Water Safety and Rescue: Master essential skills in water safety, first aid, and lifesaving techniques.
Maritime Skills: From knot-tying and navigation to engine maintenance and weather forecasting, develop a wide range of skills that are essential for any mariner.
Leadership and Teamwork: Build leadership skills and learn the importance of working as a cohesive team both on and off the water.
Community Service: Participate in conservation projects, community outreach, and educational programs to promote maritime heritage and environmental stewardship.
